New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Prayagraj Mahakumbh is once again at the center of controversy. After the Akhada Parishad imposed a ban on the entry of non-Sanatani individuals into the Mahakumbh, Naga Sannyasis have now issued their own guidelines. Strict action will be taken against those who violate these guidelines. The Naga Sannyasis have vowed to restrict entry only for those who have a tilak on the forehead and a kalawa (holy thread) on their wrist.

As per the Naga Sannyasi Shankar Bharti belonging to the Juna Akhada, this action has been taken considering actions that the people are showing as spoiling Hinduism. The guidelines were adopted keeping in view the need for protecting religious purity. Any perpetrator will be prosecuted. Naga Sannyasis announced that police would be positioned in all the entrance gates of akhadas to implement these standards. Whoever will be caught will be penalized.

Divya Giri, who is also a female sannyasi in the Juna Akhada, believes in the guideline and added, "Female sannyasi akhadas will not be a different case." She proposed that there would be a woman saint standing out there where entry will not be accepted unless the tillak from the head by the applicant.

Naga Sanyasis clarified, "this move is against Indian culture and sanctity of this Sangam City". They claimed that their akhadas and associated saints will keep strict vigil on the entire area of the fair. They said if any non-Sanatani person disturbs their culture or enters the area of the fair, then they would catch him and punish him. The Naga Sannyasis have maintained that they can take necessary action on their own also. Earlier, the Akhada Parishad had also announced a ban on entry of non-Sanatani individuals into the Mahakumbh, and now the Naga Sannyasis have supported this and are taking concrete steps to enforce it.
