New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): An Indian School of Business (ISB) student in Hyderabad expressed disappointment after ordering a dish priced at ₹525 (excluding taxes) at One8 Commune, a restaurant co-owned by Virat Kohli. Sneha shared a picture of the dish, a few slices of Peri Peri Corn Ribs garnished with garlic aioli, parmesan cheese and scallions plated elegantly with a dipping sauce. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she wrote, “Paid ₹525 for this today at One8 Commune,” sparking widespread amusement online.

Social media users reacted with a mix of humor and criticism with some calling the dish an overpriced version of a simple corn cob or "bhutta." Many defended the high price, pointing out that upscale restaurants charge for the overall dining experience, including ambience, service and presentation, rather than just the ingredients. “You didn’t pay for the corn, you paid for the vibes,” one user commented, while another joked, “This is just boiled bhutta for ₹45 with extra garnish.”

The incident also drew attention to other diners’ experiences at the restaurant.
