Lalu Yadav Faces ED Today: Will the ‘Land for Job’ Saga Take a New Turn?

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) team will question former Union Minister Lalu Yadav today in connection with the *Land for Job* case. He has been summoned and asked to appear at the ED office around 10 AM. Earlier, on Tuesday, the ED interrogated Lalu Yadav’s wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, their daughter Misa Bharti, and son Tej Pratap Yadav.
The questioning lasted for nearly four hours. During the interrogation, officials asked Rabri Devi several crucial questions. Lalu Yadav and his family members are accused of accepting land from people in exchange for jobs or pressuring them to sell their land at lower prices. This alleged scam took place between 2004 and 2009, during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure as the Railway Minister.
The CBI, in its chargesheet, has alleged that Lalu Yadav violated recruitment norms while appointing candidates. The ED’s investigation into the Land for Job case is ongoing, with multiple rounds of questioning already conducted. On January 20, 2024, ED teams from Delhi and Patna interrogated Lalu Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav for over 10 hours. During this session, Lalu Yadav was reportedly asked more than 50 questions, most of which he answered with a simple "yes" or "no."
