New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Supreme Court has stayed the decision of the Allahabad High Court. In which the Allahabad High Court had said that holding the private parts of a minor is not an attempt to rape. Today, on this decision, the Supreme Court said that it was saddened to see the lack of sensitivity of the High Court judge who gave this order. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who was present in the hearing, said that some decisions are such that it becomes necessary to stay them.

The things written in paragraphs 21, 24 and 26 of this judgment have sent a very wrong message to the people. The Chief Justice of the High Court should also see to it that this judge is not allowed to hear sensitive cases. The High Court had given its verdict on March 17 that merely grabbing the breast and breaking the string of the pyjama is not the crime of rape, such a crime falls under the category of assault or use of criminal force against a woman, the purpose of which is to undress her or force her to be naked.
