A 23-year-old woman was arrested on Friday in this case. Police gave this information. The accused has been identified as Sneha Merlin, a resident of Pulimparamba near Taliparamba. The matter came to light during a counseling session organized by Childline officials, where the allegations of abuse were revealed. This came to light when a teacher confiscated a mobile phone from the bag of the girl studying in school. After checking the phone and suspecting something unusual, the teacher informed the girl's parents. Following the teacher's advice, the parents took the child to Childline for counselling. During the counselling session, the 12-year-old girl revealed that Sneha had sexually abused her several times. Based on this revelation, the police were informed, following which she was arrested. Police also said that the accused had also given the girl a gold bracelet and other gifts. They said that the arrest was made in connection with an incident of abuse that took place in February.
Life imprisonment for the accused of raping a teenager
