New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal said that land should be provided at cheap rates to sanitation workers in Delhi to build houses. He has demanded cheap land from the central government.

Kejriwal says that if the land is made available, the Delhi government will build houses on it and give them to the sanitation workers and the sanitation workers will return the money for the house and land through monthly installments. According to Kejriwal, if this scheme is successful, all government employees can be given its benefit.

Arvind Kejriwal has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard. In this letter, he wrote, I am writing this letter to draw your attention to a very important issue of sanitation workers working in NDMC and MCD areas. These workers are the backbone of the sanitation system of our city. They live in government-provided accommodation during their job, but after retirement they have to vacate these houses. They are unable to buy their own house or take a house on expensive rent in Delhi, due to which they and their families are in an insecure situation.

Arvind Kejriwal says, “Since land related matters in Delhi come under the Central Government, I request you to provide land at concessional rates to the Safai Karamcharis. The Delhi Government will build houses for them on these lands and the employees will repay the cost of these houses to the government in easy installments. This is the problem of all government employees, especially the employees of the lower strata.”

Kejriwal wrote in the letter, "So I appeal to you that this scheme should be started with sanitation workers and then implemented for all government employees. I am sure that you will agree with this proposal and work on it by making an action plan soon."

On the attack on him, Arvind Kejriwal said that the kind of campaign we are seeing, the people of Delhi have never seen such a campaign, have never seen such violence. An attempt is being made to attack a former Chief Minister. My life is dedicated to the country and society. Attacking the opposition, he said that they are losing the elections badly.

It is noteworthy that BJP candidate Pravesh Verma, who is contesting against Kejriwal, has written that Kejriwal is going to lose the election by 20 thousand votes. On this claim of Pravesh Verma, Arvind Kejriwal said, let him live in his dreams.
