Varanasi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi for the 50th time on Friday. During his brief two-hour visit, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 44 projects worth ₹3884 crore. These include 19 completed projects worth ₹1629.13 crore and 25 new ones worth ₹2255.05 crore. The initiatives aim to uplift urban infrastructure, education, tourism, sports, and local enterprises linked to the One District-One Product scheme.

The Prime Minister will land at Babatpur Airport around 10:30 am and head to Mehndiganj for a public address. Among the key projects is a ₹652.64 crore tunnel to be built under the Varanasi-Lucknow highway as part of the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport expansion. This two-tier design will allow vehicles to pass through the tunnel while flights operate above it, improving both air and road connectivity.

Modi will also disburse ₹106 crore in bonuses via DBT to 2.70 lakh farmers linked to Banas (Amul) Dairy. In addition, senior citizens over 70 will receive Ayushman Vaya Vandana cards, and GI certificates will be presented for local products like tabla, painting, tricolor barfi, and thandai. High-level dignitaries including the Governor, Chief Minister, and other ministers will attend the event, which also features power infrastructure inaugurations in Jaunpur, Ghazipur, and Chandauli.
