Join Hands for Rangla Punjab, Report Drug Peddlers for Immediate Action

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann while addressing a program in Mohali on Thursday appealed to the people that if they see anyone selling narcotics anywhere, they should immediately inform about it. Action will be taken against him and the identity of the informer will be kept secret.
Bhagwant Mann said this after inaugurating the first phase of the City Surveillance and Traffic Management System. In his address, he mainly mentioned the problem of drug addiction in Punjab. He said, "We have waged a war against drugs in Punjab. This decision is not a decision to be taken in one day. It took a long time to take it." He said that some people say that break the supply line of drugs. Now you can break the supply line in two days, but this will not work. If you break the supply line, then our youth will crave for drugs. In such a situation, their condition will become worse than before. To avoid this situation, we have decided to build rehabilitation centers in the state.
He said that what will be achieved by putting those who consume drugs in jail. Such people are patients. Nothing will be achieved by putting them behind bars. We will have to treat them so that they get freedom from addiction. The Chief Minister said that we have to take such steps for those youth who are stuck in the quagmire of addiction out of that quagmire so that they can live a normal and dignified life in future. He said that many people are inspiring us for this work. I get calls from many people and they tell me that they are with us in this mission. He said that on the coming 16th, the AAP government will complete three years. He himself had gone to many cities of Punjab with AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and has come back promising various people of the society that they will not let them face any kind of problem. He has promised the youth, elderly, women, farmers and children of Punjab that we will take care of them.
