The three sisters were en route to Delhi when the collision occurred. Dr. Vishakha Tripathi, who was the eldest among them, tragically succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Her younger sisters, Dr. Shyama Tripathi and Dr. Krishna Tripathi, were severely injured in the accident.
