ISRO Makes History: India Becomes Fourth Nation to Achieve Space Docking

Bengaluru (The Uttam Hindu): ISRO has achieved success in connecting satellites under its Space Docking Experiment. The Space Agency has given information about this. ISRO posted on social media and called it a historic moment. With this, India has become the fourth country in the world to do so.
Earlier on January 12, during the docking trial, ISRO brought both the satellites to a distance of less than three meters and returned them to a safe distance. Let us tell you that ISRO launched the Space Docking Experiment on 30 December 2024.
Two small satellites SDX01 and SDX02 were launched with the help of PSLV C60 rocket. It was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota
and placed in a 475 km circular orbit.
According to ISRO, the Spadex mission is a cost-effective technology mission to demonstrate docking in space using two small spacecraft launched by PSLV. In space, docking technology is necessary when multiple rocket launches are required for normal missions.
