IRCTC App and Website Crash Leaves Users Frustrated, Ticket Bookings Halted, Public Outrage Grows
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website and mobile app unexpectedly crashed on Thursday morning, leaving passengers unable to book tickets. Frustrated users took to social media to report the outage, but no official statement has been issued by IRCTC regarding the disruption.
The downtime caused significant inconvenience to Indian Railway passengers, many of whom voiced their grievances on social media platform X. Several users tagged Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and the Railway Ministry, demanding accountability for the outage.
The issue sparked widespread anger online, with users criticizing the timing of the crash during peak booking hours. One user tweeted, tagging the Railway Ministry, Railway Minister, and PMO, "When will this stop? IRCTC’s website crashes at 10 am, and by the time it’s back, all Tatkal tickets are gone, leaving only premium tickets at double the price. This is a blatant scam." The incident has reignited concerns about the reliability of IRCTC's digital infrastructure.
