New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Tensions between India and Pakistan are increasing. Meanwhile, recently Indian Navy warships have carried out several successful anti-ship missile firings. Giving information about this on the social media platform X, the Indian Navy spokesperson said, "The ships carried out several successful anti-ship firings to recertify and demonstrate the readiness of the platform, systems and crew for long-range precision offensive strikes.

The Indian Navy is combat ready, credible and future ready to safeguard the maritime interests of the nation anytime, anywhere, any means.” This comes in the wake of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 people were killed, following which tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated. Earlier, Indian Navy warship INS Surat successfully test fired a Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MR-SAM) air defence missile system in the Arabian Sea. The test comes ahead of the test of a surface-to-surface missile by the Pakistan Navy in the Arabian Sea. MR-SAMs are highly effective against surface-to-surface missiles and other aerial targets. The Indian Navy wrote on X, “Indian Navy's latest indigenous guided missile destroyer INS Surat successfully engaged a target at sea, marking another milestone in strengthening our defence capabilities.”
