Indian Army, Assam Rifles Seize Weapons in Manipur Operation

Imphal (The Uttam Hindu): – The Indian Army and Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, recently launched a series of successful joint operations in the hill and valley districts of Manipur, aiming to maintain peace and security in the region. These operations, carried out in collaboration with the Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP, resulted in the recovery of a large number of weapons, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), grenades, ammunition, and other war-like stores.
Where: Operations were conducted in various districts, including Jiribam, Tengnoupal, Kakching, Ukhrul, Imphal East, and Imphal West.
What: The recovered items include 25 weapons, IEDs, grenades, and ammunition, along with destroyed bunkers in Kangpokpi district. Notable recoveries included three pump-action shotguns, one double-barrel rifle, two INSAS rifles, two carbines, and various mortars.
When: These operations have been underway and resulted in significant recoveries in the past few days.
