IAS Officer Abhishek Prakash Faces Growing Troubles as Vigilance and ED Launch Investigations

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a shocking revelation, investigations have exposed widespread irregularities in the land acquisition process for the Defense Corridor with favoritism unlawful land transfers and a blatant disregard for rules coming to light.
According to a report by the then Chairman of the Revenue Council, provisions under the Revenue Code that prevent non-transferable land from being sold were blatantly ignored. Non-transferable land was converted into transferable land within a matter of months and handed over to individuals closely linked to key figures within the land acquisition process.
The investigation further revealed that in 2020, the then Additional District Magistrate (Administration) approved the registration of accused individuals as non-transferable landholders despite irregularities in the files. The alleged transfers were officially executed on March 11, 2021 without any legal basis undermining the integrity of the process.
Despite several complaints lodged by local officials from the District Magistrate to the Divisional Commissioner, these concerns were largely ignored. As a result illegal transactions proceeded with little oversight, benefiting a select few.
The community, which had hoped the land acquisition would bring economic growth and development, now faces a bitter reality. Local farmers whose land was suddenly labeled 'transferable' without their consent are left in limbo. One farmer, who requested anonymity explained, “I never signed up for this. My land was taken away under false promises and now, my family is left with nothing.”
