Horrible accident in Jaipur, 5 people burnt alive in CNG tanker explosion; many vehicles burnt to ashes
Jaipur (The Uttam Hindu): A horrific accident took place in the Rajasthan capital Jaipur on Friday morning, in which about 40 vehicles caught fire after a CNG tanker blast. So far 5 people have died in this tragic accident on Ajmer Road, while more than 25 people are seriously injured.
This incident took place in Bhankrota area, where a blast in a gas tanker caused nearby vehicles to catch fire. Many vehicles including buses, trucks, cars and bikes caught fire. The blast was so powerful that the fire reached a petrol pump as well, making the situation even more horrific. According to eyewitnesses, people did not even get a chance to recover after the blast and many people were burnt alive.
Jaipur Collector Jitendra Soni said that 40 vehicles were damaged in the accident. As soon as the information was received, fire engines and ambulances were immediately sent to the spot. After a lot of hard work, the fire fighters controlled the fire and took the injured to the hospital. A fire department official said that they received information about the fire at around 5:45 in the morning, after which 30 fire engines were sent to extinguish the fire.
According to preliminary information, a tanker filled with chemicals or gas collided with another truck, which caused this massive explosion. There were many vehicles present on the busy road at that time, which became victims of this accident.
Dr. Deepak Maheshwari, Principal of SMS Medical College, Jaipur, said that so far 4 bodies have been brought to the hospital and about 25 people are admitted in the ICU. He said that the condition of many of the injured is critical and about 15 people have suffered 80 percent burns. The death toll is expected to increase. Relief and rescue operations are underway by the administration and the causes of the accident are being investigated.
