Navsari (Uttam Hindu News): In a historic move on the occasion of International Women's Day, India is witnessing a groundbreaking initiative. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Gujarat visit, the responsibility of his security will be entirely in the hands of women police personnel. This unprecedented step serves as both a tribute to Nari Shakti (women's power) and a symbol of the expanding role of women in India.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address the special Women's Day event 'Lakhpati Didi Sammelan' in Navsari district today. In a significant display of women empowerment, women police personnel will be in charge of the Prime Minister’s security throughout the event, from the helipad to the venue. This marks a unique example of women’s power in action.

PM Modi extended his greetings on International Women's Day, posting on social media platform 'X': "On #WomensDay we salute Nari Shakti! Our government has always worked to empower women, which is reflected in our schemes and programmes. Today, as promised, my social media properties will be occupied by women who are making their mark in various fields!"

Gujarat's Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghvi, shared details of this historic initiative, stating on Thursday, "On the occasion of International Women's Day, Gujarat Police is taking an unprecedented step. For the first time in the history of India, the entire security of the Prime Minister's program will be handled by only women police personnel." He added that women police officers would be responsible for security from the Prime Minister's arrival at the helipad in Vansi Borsi village to the event venue.

Sanghvi outlined that the security personnel will include IPS officers, constables, and women police officers of various ranks. Prime Minister Modi is on a two-day visit to Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, where he will address the 'Lakhpati Didi Sammelan' at Vansi Borsi village on March 8.

The security arrangements will involve over 2,100 constables, 187 sub-inspectors, 61 police inspectors, 16 deputy superintendents of police, 5 SPs, one Inspector General of Police, and one additional DGP-rank woman officer. Senior IPS officer and Home Secretary Nipuna Toravane will oversee the security operations.

Minister Sanghvi emphasized that this historic step taken in Gujarat will send a powerful message of women’s empowerment, not just nationally but also internationally. He added, "This step will show how important a role women are playing in making Gujarat a safer state." This initiative stands as a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts toward women empowerment and is expected to inspire people across India and the world.
