New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After the developments in Ayodhya and Kashi, preparations for the heritage corridor in Mathura have gained momentum. The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the Phase 2 master plan of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), paving the way for a six-kilometer mini link expressway that will connect the Bankebihari temple to the Yamuna Expressway. The expressway is expected to begin construction soon.

As part of the broader plan, the Yamuna Development Authority is working to bring Vrindavan into its area and has expedited the plan to connect Vrindavan to Greater Noida. This initiative also includes the beautification of Aligarh and Mathura, aiming to enhance the region’s infrastructure and tourism appeal.

The new expressway will feature heritage corridors on both sides, designed to improve the travel experience for visitors and pilgrims. The corridor will be two-storeyed and will offer amenities such as shoe stands, luggage stands, drinking water, bathrooms, medical services, and child care.

In addition to the expressway, the project will involve the construction of convention centers, art institutes, agricultural institutes, yoga and naturopathy centers, budget hotels, resorts, hospitals, and electric bus depots. The development of Heritage City will include the historic villages of Nandgaon, Barsana, and Gokul, all significant in the Dwapar era.

With these advancements, the region’s tourism infrastructure is set to improve significantly, positioning Mathura as a key destination for religious tourism and regional development.
