Gurugram hospital honours Guru Nanak Dev Ji with new name, CM Saini marks historic moment
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, announced that the state's government has decided to name the upcoming 700-bed government hospital in Gurugram, being built at an estimated cost of Rs 1000 crore, after Guru Nanak Dev Ji. This significant decision was made during the ongoing Haryana Vidhan Sabha session on November 14, 2024. The announcement came on the occasion of the Prakash Parv (birth anniversary) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. In a major gesture of support for farmers, the Chief Minister also revealed that the second installment of a bonus worth Rs 300 crore had been released to farmers today.
Speaking to the media after paying his respects at Gurudwara Nada Sahib in Panchkula, Chief Minister Saini expressed his prayers for the economic well-being and prosperity of Haryana. He also highlighted that another historic decision had been taken: the 77 acres of land at Chilla Sahib Gurudwara in Sirsa, where Guru Nanak Dev Ji had spent 40 days, will now be formally dedicated to the Gurudwara.
In another key announcement, the Chief Minister launched a new online portal designed to resolve disputes regarding the enhancement of plots under the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP). The portal, which will be open for six months starting November 15, 2024, is expected to benefit over 7,000 plot holders in Haryana. Furthermore, Saini revealed plans to issue soil health cards to 40 lakh farmers in the state. These cards, issued every three years, will provide farmers with critical information to help improve soil fertility and enhance agricultural productivity.
On the topic of the proposed Haryana Vidhan Sabha building in Chandigarh, the Chief Minister criticized the Punjab government, urging it to focus on addressing farmers' issues rather than diverting attention with unrelated matters. He asserted that the people of Haryana had rejected the Congress government due to its failure to act in their interest and suggested that Punjab voters would likely follow suit against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in future elections. Chief Minister Saini also spoke about the lasting influence of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's teachings, emphasizing values of spiritual enlightenment, social harmony, and prosperity. "Kirat Karo, Naam Japo, and Wand Chhako"—the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji—remain a guiding force for the state government, he said.
Baljit Singh Daduwal, Chairman of the Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Haryana, praised the Haryana government's initiatives, particularly the decision to name the Gurugram hospital after Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the transfer of land to the Chilla Sahib Gurudwara in Sirsa. He also lauded the government's efforts in supporting farmers. MLAs Shakti Rani Sharma and Randhir Panihar were present during the announcement.
