New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): At least seven terrorists, believed to be members of a banned organization, were reportedly killed during a shootout in Pakistan’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday. The operation, based on intelligence information, took place in the Karri Malang area of Dera Ismail Khan district, near the South Waziristan border. Unfortunately, a Pakistani army captain lost his life in the exchange of fire and three soldiers were injured.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur expressed concerns over the ongoing security situation. He stated that the provincial government would not permit any military operations by security forces, citing the influx of terrorists from Afghanistan. Gandapur claimed that the number of terrorists infiltrating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is roughly equal to the number of terrorists being neutralized in the region. According to him, between 9,500 and 11,500 terrorists have already entered Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the number of militants potentially across the border is even higher.
