Grim Accident: Pickup Crushes Cleaning Crew, Leaves 6 Dead, 5 Fighting for Life

Nuh (Haryana) (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic accident took place on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Nuh district on Saturday morning. A speeding pickup vehicle crushed six employees cleaning the road near Ibrahimbas village in Ferozepur Jhirka police station area. In this accident, six cleaning employees died on the spot, while five others were seriously injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred at around 10 am when about 10 sanitation workers were cleaning the expressway. A speeding pickup truck suddenly came and crushed them. The collision was so severe that many bodies were mutilated. The injured were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital, where their condition remains critical.
After the incident, there was chaos on the expressway. Local people informed the police and ambulance. Road safety agency and police teams reached the spot in no time. People were shocked to see the horror of the accident. Police said that the dead are being identified. A case has been registered against the driver and investigation has been started. CCTV footage from the spot is also being scanned so that the cause of the accident can be ascertained.
This accident is another serious example in the series of frequent accidents happening on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Earlier also, many accidents have happened on this route due to fog, high speed and negligence. This accident has raised serious questions on the safety arrangements of the employees working on the expressway.
The administration has controlled the traffic at the accident site and the process of informing the relatives of the deceased is underway. Deep condolences and anger about road safety are being expressed on social media as well.
