Ranchi (The Uttam Hindu): Notorious gangster Aman Sahu, who has committed more than 150 criminal incidents in many states including Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, was killed in a police encounter on Tuesday morning. This encounter took place in Chainpur of Palamu district. Aman was lodged in Raipur jail of Chhattisgarh for the last few months.

Jharkhand police had taken him on remand for questioning in connection with the recent incidents. The police team was bringing him from Raipur to Ranchi on Monday night. It was told that on the way from Raipur to Ranchi, at a place called Andhari Dhodha in Chainpur police station area, Aman's gang attacked the police vehicle with a bomb. Due to this, the police vehicle lost balance.

Police claim that Aman Sahu tried to take advantage of the situation and snatched the police's weapon and started running away. When the police tried to stop him, he opened fire. In response, the police also fired, in which Aman Sahu was killed. Palamau SP Rishma Rameshan has confirmed the death of gangster Aman Sahu in an encounter with the police.

He has told that a jawan has also been shot in the encounter. An ambulance has been sent to the spot. Aman was a resident of Matve village of Budhmu police station area of ​​Ranchi. During the investigation of criminal cases, it was revealed that Aman Sahu has links with notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He was earlier lodged in Saraikela jail in Jharkhand. On October 14, 2024, Chhattisgarh police took him to Raipur on a production warrant. Since then he was lodged in Raipur jail.

Aman Sahu was convicted by the court in two cases. He was sentenced to six years in a criminal case in Ramgarh, Jharkhand and three years in a case in Latehar. Three days ago, Aman Sahu's gang had taken responsibility for the firing incident on coal transporter Bipin Mishra in Ranchi. Aman's most trusted henchman Mayank Singh had posted about it on social media.

On Saturday, the police suspected the involvement of Aman Sahu gang in the murder of NTPC DGM (Dispatch) Kumar Gaurav in Hazaribagh. The police wanted to question him in both these cases. On Monday, DGP Anurag Gupta said that gangsters like Aman Sahu are committing criminal acts from jail itself. Virtual numbers are used for this.
