From Maha Kumbh Fame to Bollywood: Viral Sensation Monalisa Bags Hindi Film
Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Monalisa Bhosle, the 16-year-old girl from Khargone district, Madhya Pradesh who gained nationwide attention as the viral girl of Prayagraj Maha Kumbh is once again making headlines. She has now stepped into the world of cinema by signing the film ‘The Diary of Manipur.’ The movie is being directed by Sanoj Mishra, known for his previous works like The Diary of West Bengal. Mishra personally visited Monalisa’s home to offer her the role and later shared details of his visit on social media.

However, her life changed when a content creator at the Maha Kumbh Mela captured her selling rudraksha garlands. Her unique features, particularly her eyes made her an instant internet sensation. With her newfound fame, her daily routine took an unexpected turn as people flocked to take selfies with her rather than purchasing garlands. Amid the overwhelming attention, she had to limit media interactions before eventually returning home. Now, with her film career set to begin shooting for ‘The Diary of Manipur’ is scheduled to commence in February.
Recently, director Sanoj Mishra met with Monalisa and her family to discuss the upcoming project.
