Dausa (The Uttam Hindu): A car in the convoy of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah met with an accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway at 1:45 pm on Friday in Dausa, Rajasthan.

According to initial reports, at the time of the accident, a Nilgai suddenly came in front of the convoy car, due to which the escorting car of Delhi Police got damaged. Due to the impact of the collision, both the airbags in front of the car opened. Farooq Abdullah has not suffered any kind of injury. He had left for Ajmer Dargah pilgrimage.

Pappuram Meena, Head Constable of Delhi Police, who was present at the time of the incident, said, "Nilgai suddenly jumped out of the trees near Bhandarej interchange of Dausa Sadar police station. There were four people in our car, and we were headed towards Ajmer. After the accident, Farooq Abdullah stayed there for some time and continued his journey towards Ajmer at around 2 o'clock."
