FM Nirmala Sitharaman Presents Budget for the 8th Time, Dons Elegant Cream Saree
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Everyone's eyes were on the sari of the Union Finance Minister. Everyone was waiting to see what would be special this time in the traditional attire sari, painted in the colors of Indianness, which state's story would be hidden in the threads. The curtain was removed and then the Finance Minister surprised everyone. This time the sari also reflected the labor of the weavers and the skill of the artisans. This time the Finance Minister has worn a cream colored sari. The minister reached the Finance Ministry at around 8.50 am. Before her, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary had also reached the ministry. Sitharaman's sari has a special message. The combination of colors reflects her understanding and practicality. In the full budget of 2024, the color white, which signifies peace and comfort, was chosen. It is also considered the color of innocence.
Sitharaman kept her look very simple, natural and ordinary in the seventh budget. The look of an empowered woman with a gold chain-pendant, bangles and bindi was in the headlines. Just before this, she wore a blue colored sari while presenting the interim budget of the 17th Lok Sabha. In this too, the Finance Minister's love for handloom sarees was visible like always. She wore a blue colored handloom saree. Blue color is considered a symbol of peace and power. The message in the cream and blue colored saree was special. There was a worship of women power (this was mentioned in the budget) and also its stability. Blue was the base color. Which is a symbol of peace, stability, inspiration or knowledge. It is also a symbol of reliability.
Cream colour is also said to be the favourite colour of Nirmala Sitharaman. Just as her Pochampalli Ikkat silk saree in 2021 had a glimpse of this colour, in 2022 too there was a touch of off-white. In 2023, the Finance Minister chose a red coloured saree. Red colour is considered a symbol of love, strength, bravery, passion and commitment. In 2022, the Finance Minister was seen wearing a Bomkai saree from Odisha, which reflects her attachment to cultural heritage. The maroon colour seen in the saree is known to represent perseverance, security and dependability. 2020 was the era of Corona, during that time she wore a yellow saree showing resolve for a golden future. In 2019, she wore a magenta coloured Mangalagiri saree. She was going to present the budget for the first time and from here the briefcase took the form of a ledger.
