Fake Paneer Sold as Poison: Food Minister Urges Health Minister to Take Action, Directs States to Act

The Central Government may take a big step against this fake Paneer in the coming days. In this regard, Food Minister Pralhad Joshi has urged Health Minister JP Nadda to take immediate action against the sale of fake and adulterated paneer in fast food shops, restaurants and other markets across the country. Joshi wrote, 'Consumers have lodged many complaints in this matter on the National Consumer Helpline Portal, which shows the increasing trend of selling fake and adulterated paneer across the country.
Consumption of such fake and adulterated food items can cause serious harm to health. ' Public concern and complaints are increasing regarding the quality and safety of food items, especially among those consumers who depend on paneer as their primary source of nutrition. Food regulator Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has directed the states to take strict action against fake paneer and reuse of used oil. FSSAI has talked about taking strict action against adulteration in paneer.
