Encounter in Udhampur After Pahalgam Attack, One Soldier Martyred

Udhampur (The Uttam Hindu):The operation of security forces against terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir has intensified. On Thursday, an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Basantgarh area of ​​Udhampur district, in which an army soldier was martyred.

After Pahalgam attack, encounter with terrorists in Udhampur, one soldier martyred; search operation continues : Based on the intelligence received, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army started a joint operation. This encounter is going on in Dudu area, where heavy firing is taking place from both sides and security forces have surrounded the terrorists from all sides. The operation is currently underway.

It is worth noting that after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the activity of security forces has increased in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the third major encounter in the last 24 hours. Earlier, there was an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Kulgam and Baramulla as well.

On April 23, an infiltration attempt was foiled near the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla, in which two terrorists were killed. AK-series rifles, a Chinese pistol, 10 kg IED and other weapons were recovered from them. Security forces believe that these terrorists were planning a major incident in the valley.

In view of the continuous encounters and terrorist attacks, high alert has been declared in Jammu and Kashmir. Search operations are being conducted in the entire area and any suspicious activity is being closely monitored.
