Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena Opposes Devendra Fadnavis Government’s Decision, Calls for Ban
Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): The Devendra Fadnavis-led government in Maharashtra had issued an order to appoint ministers in charge in Nashik and Raigad districts, which has now been stayed. There was a lot of discontent among the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena against this decision and Shiv Sainiks had also protested at many places. In such a situation, the government put a stay on the decision late at night.
Shiv Sena says that there should be transparency and equality in the selection of the in-charge minister. This controversy is happening because NCP leader Aditi Tatkare has been made the in-charge minister of Raigad, while the responsibility of Nashik has been given to BJP leader Girish Mahajan. In Maharashtra, the in-charge minister is called the guardian minister. The guardian minister has a share in the meetings related to the development plans of the district and he is in a way the supervisor of all matters. In such a situation, it is very important and there is a tussle between the parties regarding the post of the in-charge minister. On Sunday, as soon as the information was received that the post of in-charge minister has been given to BJP and NCP, the Shiv Sainiks got angry. Shiv Sena was hoping that Bharat Gogavale would be made the in-charge minister of Raigad, while Dada Bhuse would get the command of Nashik. But this did not happen and Shiv Sainiks have seen it as ignoring themselves due to the alliance between NCP and BJP.
Local leaders of Shiv Sena say that by giving the post of Guardian Minister to some other party, local equations have been ignored. As a result, the state government immediately called a meeting and put a stay on the appointment of Guardian Minister. Now government sources say that a meeting will be held with Shiv Sena as well and any decision will be taken only with consensus. Shiv Sainiks clearly said that this decision will stop the pace of development in the area. Apart from this, discontent will also arise at the local level. Actually, Eknath Shinde considers both these districts as his support base. In such a situation, there is displeasure in the party due to NCP and BJP leaders being made in-charge here.
