Eid Threats: Social Media Posts Warn of Riots, Bomb Blasts in Delhi & Mumbai; Security Tightened

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): As Eid approaches, alarming warnings about possible bomb blasts and communal riots in Delhi and Mumbai have surfaced on social media, prompting heightened security measures by the police. The warning, posted on social media, has put law enforcement on alert across both cities.
The message claimed that Hindu-Muslim riots, arson, and bomb blasts could take place in specific areas during the Eid celebrations on March 31 and April 1. Mumbai Police has taken the matter seriously and ramped up security across the city, especially in sensitive areas.
Navi Mumbai Police on Alert
The post tagged the Navi Mumbai Police's official handle and raised concerns about areas like Dongri. It warned that illegal Rohingya, Bangladeshi, or Pakistani intruders could be planning such attacks. Following this, Navi Mumbai Police immediately heightened security and launched an investigation.
Patrolling Intensified in Dongri
According to reports, the cyber cell is working to trace the individual behind the post. Technical analysis is underway, and patrols in Dongri have been increased. So far, no suspicious activity has been reported. In addition to regular police forces, personnel from the Crime Branch, Anti-Terrorism Squad, and Special Branch are monitoring the situation closely.
Police have assured the public that all necessary precautions are being taken and the situation is under constant watch to ensure peace and safety.
Details of the Social Media Post
The post read:
“Mumbai Police be alert! During Eid on 31 March–1 April 2025, some illegal Rohingya/Bangladeshi/Pakistani intruders living in areas like Dongri may cause Hindu-Muslim riots, arson, and bomb blasts.”
In response, Navi Mumbai Police acknowledged the message and requested the sender to share further details, including a contact number, for investigation.
Delhi Also on High Alert
The same social media user also issued a similar warning for Delhi. The individual tagged the Delhi Chief Minister, Delhi Police, and UP Police, alerting them to a potential threat in areas like Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid, and Jahangirpuri.
The message warned that illegal foreign elements could attempt to incite riots or cause explosions during the Eid period in the capital.
Authorities in Delhi have acknowledged the alert and are expected to take precautionary measures in coordination with central agencies to ensure safety during the festive period.
