ED Raids Raj Kundra's Properties, Expands Probe into Pornography Network
Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday conducted raids at the residence and office of Raj Kundra, the husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, as part of its ongoing investigation into a money laundering case connected to a pornography network. The central agency's team also targeted the premises of several associates linked to Kundra, as part of a coordinated effort to uncover the financial operations of the alleged racket.
Kundra, a businessman with multiple ventures, has been previously arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with the pornographic content racket. He was accused of producing and distributing adult films through mobile apps and websites. The ED's latest move follows a broader investigation into the financial transactions and illegal activities surrounding the operation of these platforms. Kundra is alleged to have used his business networks to fund and promote the production of adult content, with the intention of laundering the proceeds.
Sources reveal that the ED is probing various financial aspects, including investments and payments, made in relation to the pornography business. The raids are part of a larger investigation into money laundering, as Kundra’s associates and business entities are also under scrutiny.
While Kundra's legal team has denied any wrongdoing, the ED’s actions signal their deepening investigation into the case. The raids on Friday are expected to bring more clarity to the financial networks allegedly involved in the distribution of illegal content. The investigation is ongoing, and further developments are expected in the coming days.
