Washington (The Uttam Hindu): A severe storm has wreaked havoc in many parts of America. Schools have also been destroyed in many states and at least 32 people have been reported dead so far. On Friday, eight people died in a highway accident due to a dust storm in Sherman County. Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves said, six people have died and three are missing in three counties. Posting on the social media platform X, he said, 29 people have been injured across the state. Officials said that more deaths have been recorded in Missouri than any other state.

Meanwhile, security personnel informed on Friday that three people died in car accidents due to dust storm in Amarillo in the Texas Panhandle. These deaths have occurred due to a large storm system which has brought strong winds across the country. More than 100 forest fires have also been reported.
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for parts of far western Minnesota and far eastern South Dakota through Saturday morning. Accumulations of 3 to 6 inches (7.6 to 15.2 centimeters) of snow are expected. Winds gusting up to 60 mph are expected to create blizzard conditions. Major tornadoes were also reported Saturday. The center said the highest-risk areas stretch from eastern Louisiana and Mississippi to Alabama, western Georgia and the Florida Panhandle.
