Dehradun (The Uttam Hindu): A newly surfaced video has revealed that a group of college students involved in a deadly car accident in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, earlier this week had been partying and drinking before the crash. CCTV footage from the scene shows the students racing their car against a BMW and driving at dangerously high speeds. The crash, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, resulted in six fatalities and left one student critically injured. The impact of the collision was so severe that some of the victims were reportedly decapitated, and the car was left in a completely mangled state.

It shows the group of young men and women dancing, drinking, and consuming what appears to be alcohol earlier that evening. This has sparked speculation about whether alcohol may have played a role in the accident, although the police have not yet confirmed if the students were intoxicated, as autopsy reports are still pending. The crash took place around 1:30 a.m. at ONGC Chowk in Dehradun when the students' car slammed into the back of a truck. All six passengers were killed on the spot, and the seventh, 25-year-old Siddhesh Agrawal, was hospitalized with serious injuries at Synergy Hospital.

The victims have been identified as Kunal Kukreja (23), Atul Agrawal (24), Rishabh Jain (24), Navya Goel (23), Kamakshi (20), and Guneet (19). Kukreja was from Himachal Pradesh, while the others were residents of Dehradun. Police have not yet revealed which college or university the students attended.

An investigation is underway, with authorities examining CCTV footage to determine the cause of the crash. While police have not confirmed whether the driver was under the influence, the video has intensified speculation about alcohol's role in the incident. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of young lives and extended his condolences to the grieving families.
