New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Amidst the growing tension with Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. It is believed that in this high-level meeting, there will be an in-depth discussion on the future steps to be taken against Pakistan in view of the Pahalgam attack and the country's security preparations.

This meeting is taking place at a time when the Indian government is continuously taking tough decisions against Pakistan, including sending back Pakistani citizens and banning some Pakistani YouTube channels.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also met Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Sunday and took stock of military preparedness and the current situation along the border with Pakistan. The information provided by the CDS will also be shared with the Prime Minister in today's meeting.

According to sources, the meeting may consider possible military and diplomatic options to thwart cross-border terrorism, infiltration attempts and send a strong message to Pakistan. Since the Pahalgam attack, tensions have also increased on the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan and there have been reports of firing from both sides.

After this important meeting, the Indian government may announce some more strict steps against Pakistan, which will be aimed at curbing cross-border terrorism and preventing such attacks in the future.
