Deep-fried frog pizza causes stir: 'Please See!' says Pizza Hut'
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): If you thought pineapple on pizza was controversial, wait until you hear about the latest offering from Pizza Hut in China: a pizza topped with a deep-fried frog. This unusual dish is part of a collaboration with the popular mobile game *Dungeon & Fighter: Origins*. The "Goblin Pizza," as it’s called, has sparked debate on social media, even in a country where exotic meats like frog are not uncommon.
In case yesterday’s post about Pizza Hut, making tomato wine wasn’t enough, how about their current promotion in China, a pizza topped with whole frog? Would you give this a try? Would you rather see pineapple? pic.twitter.com/vS2M9p1eH2

The pizza, which was announced in a WeChat post on November 18, features a whole deep-fried bullfrog atop a spicy, mala-flavored base with plenty of coriander. It’s available for pre-order at just three select locations. However, those who ordered the pizza were disappointed to find that the real product looked much different from the advertisement. One customer humorously questioned Pizza Hut’s product development team on Weibo, sharing a photo of the pizza and highlighting the difference between expectation and reality.
Reactions on social media have been mixed. Some users wondered how Italians would feel about this unusual topping, while others expressed concerns about the presentation. "It might taste good, but it doesn’t look good," said one Instagram user, while another called it "illegal," despite frog meat being a common dish in some regions of China. The frog pizza is priced at 169 yuan (approximately ₹2,000), and ties into the *Dungeon & Fighter: Origins* game, where goblins encounter a Pizza Hut during a quest.
