Lucknow ( The Uttam Hindu): A Lucknow court has summoned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the connection of controversial remarks he has made about Veer Savarkar and the inflammatory speech. The Lucknow court has issued summon against Rahul Gandhi and ordered him to appear before the court on January 10, 2025.

On Thursday, this petition regarding the inflammatory statement from Gandhi and the controversial speeches on Savarkar were submitted in the court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (III). Here, also, the court found it prima facie guilty concerning sections 153(A) and 505 of Indian Penal Code related to the propagation of enmity and other statements that might inflame religious hatred.

Advocate Nripendra Pandey filed a complaint, accusing Rahul Gandhi of making derogatory remarks about Savarkar, calling him a 'servant of the British' and alleging that he took a pension from the colonial government. The next hearing has been scheduled by the court for January 10, 2025, when Gandhi will have the opportunity to present his side of the case. The summons brings to the spotlight amidst strong political debate around the martyrdom of freedom fighters and Veer Savarkar.
