Counter Intelligence Jalandhar Prevents Targeted Killing, Arrests 3 BKI-linked Terrorists

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a breakthrough, Counter Intelligence Jalandhar has successfully averted a target-killing plot orchestrated by a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI)-backed terrorist module in Punjab. Three members of the module—Jagroop Singh alias Jagga, Sukhjit Singh alias Sukha, and Navpreet Singh alias Nav—were arrested, and four sophisticated weapons, including ammunition, were recovered during the operation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the module was being run by US-based gangster Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi Navashahria, a close associate of Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda, along with his associate Ladi Bakapuria, who is currently based in Greece. The police seized four ultra-modern pistols during the operation: a Glock 9mm pistol, a PX5 Storm Beretta 30-bore pistol, and two country-made pistols (30-bore and 32-bore), along with magazines and cartridges.
An FIR has been registered at SSOC Amritsar, and further investigations are underway to trace the back-and-forth linkages of the module to dismantle the entire network. Punjab Police remains fully committed to eliminating organized crime and maintaining peace and harmony in the state. The arrest and recovery have disrupted a major threat to public safety, as authorities work to uncover the broader scope of the terror network.
