Counter-Intelligence Crackdown in Jalandhar: Three Babbar Khalsa Members Arrested

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): In a major success, the Counter Intelligence, Jalandhar has foiled another major assassination plan in Punjab by arresting three members of a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI)-backed terror module. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Friday that the arrested criminals have been identified as Jagroop Singh alias Jagga, Sukhjeet Singh alias Sukha and Navpreet Singh alias Nav. Police have recovered four sophisticated weapons along with ammunition from them.

The DGP said that preliminary investigation revealed that the module was being operated by US-based gangster Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi Navasharia, a close associate of Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda, along with his associate Ladi Bakapuria, who currently lives in Greece. He informed that an FIR has been registered in this regard at SSOC Amritsar.

Further investigation is underway to bust the entire network. The weapons recovered include one Glock pistol 9mm, one magazine and 06 cartridges, one pistol Storm (Beretta) 30 bore, one magazine and 04 bullets, one country made 30 bore pistol, one magazine and four cartridges and one country made 32 bore pistol, 01 magazine and 08 cartridges.
