Congress Workers Raise Slogans After Walkout in Chandigarh Assembly; Raja Warring, Others Detained

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The budget session of the Punjab Assembly has begun. On the first day of the budget session, i.e. today, the opposition staged a walkout. Congress workers protested against the Punjab government over farming and several other issues. Police used water cannons to disperse the Congress workers.

Under the leadership of Punjab Congress President Raja Vading and Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Mahila Congress held a strong protest against the government. A large number of police forces were deployed during the protest. During this, water cannon was used by the police. At the same time, many Congress workers including Raja Vading, Sukhjinder Randhawa were taken into custody.

According to the information, as soon as the protesters marched towards the Vidhan Sabha, the police and Congress workers came face to face. After which the police tried to stop them by putting up barricades. But the protesters kept moving forward. After which the police had to use water cannon.
