China (The Uttam Hindu): China has intensified its trade war with the United States by imposing 125% additional tariffs on American goods. This move comes as a strong retaliation after the US recently hiked tariffs on Chinese imports. The new tariffs imposed by China will come into effect from Saturday and are seen as a clear warning to the US over its aggressive trade policies.

China’s finance ministry stated that if the US continues to increase tariffs or takes further hostile measures, China may ignore those tariffs and adopt its own strategies to protect national interests. This aggressive tariff hike is expected to affect a wide range of US products, raising concerns among exporters and businesses.

The escalating trade conflict has already impacted global markets, with stock markets witnessing a sharp decline and gold prices surging as investors seek safe-haven assets. Experts believe that this ongoing tariff war could lead to higher prices for consumers, disrupt supply chains, and create instability in the global economy.
