Kotputli (The Uttam Hindu): Three-year-old Chetna remains trapped in a 700-foot-deep borewell in Kotputli, Rajasthan, as the rescue operation enters its sixth day. The child is stuck at a depth of 120 feet, without food or water for days. In a positive development, rescue team personnel have entered a nearby pit to dig a tunnel to reach her. However, officials have not provided a timeline for her rescue.

Chetna's mother, Dhole Devi, is inconsolable and pleading with folded hands for her daughter's rescue. The family has expressed frustration with the administration and the collector, alleging delays in action. They claim the collector was on leave initially and has not yet visited the family. Chetna's uncle, Shubhram, stated that officials avoid answering questions and defer all queries to the collector.

As per reports, three teams of six NDRF personnel are working in shifts to rescue the girl. Two personnel at a time are being sent down into a 170-foot-deep pit to dig towards the borewell. Each team works for about 20-25 minutes before being replaced. If stones obstruct the digging, specialized equipment such as drill machines will be used. The tunnel construction continues in hopes of reaching Chetna soon.
