CBSE’s Big Move: Notices Sent to 34 Schools, Action Imminent for Rule Breaches
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued show cause notices to 34 schools across the country for violating the rules. CBSE has sent notices to many schools in Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh and asked them to respond within 30 days. The board clarified that if the schools do not do so, it will be assumed that the school has nothing to respond and the board will take further decision in this matter according to the rules.
The board official said that CBSE had issued a notice to all the concerned schools on July 7, 2024. In which they were informed that the board has got affiliation from the School Games Federation of India (SGFI). In such a situation, the champions of CBSE National Games starting from the year 2024-25 will participate in the SGFI National School Games organized annually by SGFI.
The matter is related to participation in sports competitions
. Also, the board had warned the principals about a sports unit named CBSE Board School Games Welfare Society (CBSE-WSO). The board had clarified to the schools that this society is based in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, which is using the name of CBSE to participate in sports competitions. It is also participating in sports events organized by SGFI and various other sports organizations.
