CASH FOR COFFIN: Father-Son Duo's Twisted ₹1 Crore Insurance Fraud

Najafgarh (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking case of insurance fraud has come to light in Delhi's Najafgarh area, where a father-son duo concocted a fake death story to claim a ₹1 crore insurance policy. The police have arrested the duo and are investigating the role of a lawyer who allegedly masterminded the scam. According to the police, the father took out a ₹1 crore life insurance policy for his son, Gagan, just a few months ago. On March 5, the duo staged a fake accident, claiming Gagan had died. The father even performed the last rites and 13th-day rituals to avoid suspicion.
However, the police grew suspicious when a man approached them on March 11, claiming to have witnessed the accident. Upon investigation, the police found no evidence of the accident or Gagan's death. Further probe revealed that Gagan was alive and had been insured for ₹1 crore just months prior. Under strict interrogation, the father-son duo confessed to the scam, revealing that they had been advised by a lawyer to fake Gagan's death to claim the insurance money. The police are now investigating the lawyer's role in the conspiracy.
