Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): In a remarkable display of skill and determination, 14-year-old Suhani Bhutani from Cambridge Innovative School, Jalandhar, clinched the bronze medal in the highly competitive Pool Bending Race at the prestigious Khedan Watan Punjab-Equestrian Tournament being held at Mohali. Competing in the under-17 category, Suhani’s exceptional performance on her horse, ‘Toofan’ earned her a place on the podium, solidifying her reputation as one of the region’s rising equestrian stars. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Suhani’s six-year journey in the sport of equestrian, where she has consistently honed her skills under the expert guidance of her coaches Inspector Ram Lal and Youngbir from PAP,Jalandhar.



The Pool Bending Race, a test of both rider and horse’s agility, speed, and precision, is one of the most challenging events in the tournament, requiring riders to maneuver their horses around a series of poles in a precise pattern. Suhani’s flawless execution of the race earned her high praise from spectators and judges alike.

“I’ve been practicing for years, and today was the culmination of all that hard work. I couldn’t have done it without my horse, Toofan, and the amazing support from my coaches and parents,” Suhani said, beaming with pride after her victory.

Her parents, Dr. H.S. Bhutani & Dr. Sandali Bhutani, who have supported her passion for equestrian sports from the very beginning, were on hand to witness their daughter’s triumph. “We are incredibly proud of Suhani. She’s shown incredible dedication and perseverance in training, and this achievement is a testament to her hard work,” said Dr. H.S. Bhutani.

In the coming months, Suhani plans to continue training for more prestigious events, with her sights set on even greater success in the equestrian world. Her story serves as an inspiration to young athletes, showing that with determination and the right support, dreams can be turned into reality.
