Brake Failure Mystery: Singapore Airlines A380 Rolls Back at Delhi Airport
New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): A Singapore Airlines Airbus A380, which had landed from Singapore, experienced a rollback case at Indira Gandhi Airport, Delhi on Monday evening because the pilots apparently failed to apply the parking brake. The airplane landed at 8:00 PM, and started backrolling at 8:14 PM as the approach end of the parking ramp was sloping slightly.
Incidentally, no collision happened with other aircraft or on the ground. The pilots promptly applied the brakes stopping the movement. Ground personnel easily towed the aircraft back into its assigned parking bay. Without incident, passengers disembarked, and while no injuries are reported on the passengers, cabin crew had one bruise. The Singapore Airlines has issued its apology regarding the disruption due to its commitment to passers-by and crew in terms of safety.
