BOMB THREAT ON AIR INDIA FLIGHT: Plane Returns to Mumbai

Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York was brought back to Mumbai after a bomb was reported. Official sources gave this information. There were more than 320 people on board the plane and it landed safely in Mumbai. Security agencies are investigating it. Air India said in a statement, 'A potential security threat was detected on Mumbai-New York (JFK) flight AI 119 today on 10 March 2025. After following the necessary protocols, the aircraft was diverted back to Mumbai in the interest of safety of all on board.' Sources said that there was a report of a bomb being planted in the plane and a letter was found in the toilet of the aircraft in this regard. A source said that there were 322 people on board the Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, including 19 crew members.
An Air India spokesperson said, "A potential security threat was detected during flight on AI119 Mumbai-New York (JFK) flight today, 10 March. After following the necessary protocols, the aircraft was diverted back to Mumbai keeping in mind the safety of all on board. The aircraft landed safely in Mumbai at 1025 hrs (local time). The aircraft is undergoing mandatory checks by security agencies, and Air India is extending its full cooperation to the authorities."
