New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A bomb threat emailed to 40 schools in Delhi, including prominent institutions like DPS RK Puram and GD Goenka School has been confirmed as a hoax. Following an extensive investigation security agencies have ruled out the presence of any explosives. No suspicious materials were found after thorough searches of the school premises, and the bomb threat has been classified as a false alarm.

The threatening email sent at 11:38 PM on December 8 claimed that bombs had been planted on school campuses and threatened massive damage if they exploded. The sender also demanded a ransom of 30 thousand dollars to prevent the blast.

The threat caused significant alarm prompting immediate action from the affected schools including DPS RK Puram and GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar among others. The Delhi Fire Department was notified early the next morning and the schools took swift measures to send students home and inform the authorities. The police and fire teams conducted thorough searches at each school, but no explosives were discovered.

The investigation is ongoing with police focusing on tracing the sender's IP address and other technical details. As a precaution most schools were closed for the day and students were sent back home due to the reported emergency. Following the scare security and vigilance have been heightened across Delhi schools. The authorities are working to track down the source of the threatening email but for now the incident is being treated as a hoax.
