New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): There are many reasons for BJP's victory and Aam Aadmi Party's defeat in Delhi Assembly elections. These reasons also include defection of those leaders due to which AAP suffered and BJP benefited. Like Kailash Gehlot, who was once number 2 in Aam Aadmi Party. Kailash Gehlot left AAP and joined BJP and he is a strong Jat face who caused great damage to AAP. BJP benefited from Kailash's good hold especially in the rural areas of outer Delhi. Actually, Kailash Gehlot was feeling isolated in the party due to Atishi becoming the CM, so he considered it appropriate to leave the party.
Apart from this, Congress's strong leader Arvinder Lovely also joined BJP and the party made him contest from Gandhinagar seat and he won. Raj Kumar Chauhan also left Congress and joined BJP just before the elections. Chauhan was made BJP's candidate from Mangolpuri seat and he won. One of the reasons for BJP's victory was Baijayant Panda, Lok Sabha MP from Odisha's Kendrapada seat. He was appointed as the in-charge of Delhi BJP. Recently, due to Baijayant Panda's efficient strategy, the 24-year-old Naveen Patnaik government in Odisha came to an end.
In the last municipal elections of Delhi, it was Bijayant Panda who saved the honour of BJP. Everyone was assuming that BJP's condition will worsen, but due to Panda's skilful strategy, BJP gave a tough fight to Aam Aadmi Party. Now after BJP's victory in Delhi elections, his flag is going to be raised high in BJP once again. After the victory in Haryana, BJP had appointed Baijayant Panda as the election in-charge of Delhi Assembly and Ghaziabad MP Atul Garg as co-in-charge.
