New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, 76, has announced his decision to retire from electoral politics due to his advancing age. In a letter addressed to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Goel expressed his gratitude for the respect and support shown by party legislators over the years.
Reacting to Goel’s retirement, Kejriwal called it an “emotional moment” for the party. He praised Goel’s guidance and leadership both inside and outside the Assembly, acknowledging his contributions to the party’s success. Kejriwal further stated that Goel had recently expressed his wish to retire due to health concerns.
The AAP leader conveyed respect for Goel’s decision, adding that the veteran leader would always be considered a guardian of the party, and his experience would remain crucial for the party’s future.
