Beed Mosque Blast: Gelatin Rod Explosion on Eid Eve, 2 Arrested

Beed (Uttam Hindu News): A big news has come out from Beed district of Maharashtra just a day before Eid ul-Fitr. An explosion took place in a mosque in Ardh Masla village located in Jiorai tehsil of the district on Sunday early morning. According to the police, the explosion was allegedly caused by a gelatin rod placed by a person. However, no one is reported to be injured in this incident.
Police said that the incident took place at around 2:30 am in the morning, after which the interior of the mosque was damaged. Taking immediate action in this regard, the police have arrested two people and a thorough investigation of the case is going on. After the incident, an atmosphere of tension prevails in the village, in view of which a large number of police forces have been deployed to maintain law and order and prevent the spread of any kind of rumors.
According to officials, preliminary investigation revealed that a person entered the mosque from the rear side and placed some gelatin rods there, resulting in the explosion. The village head informed the Talwara police about the incident at around 4 am. On receiving the information, Beed Superintendent of Police Navneet Kanwat and other senior police officials immediately reached the spot.
The officer said that the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and Forensic Science Team have also reached the spot and started investigation. Beed Police has detained two persons in this case and they are being questioned. Police officials have appealed to the general public not to pay attention to any kind of rumors and cooperate with the police in maintaining law and order. At present, the situation in the village is under control and the police is closely investigating every aspect to get to the bottom of the matter.
