New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Before the start of the new season of IPL, BCCI has taken a big decision. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has given a big relief to the bowlers by lifting the ban on the use of saliva on the ball. Let us tell you that this ban was imposed in 2020 during the corona virus infection. Saliva has been used to shine the ball in cricket since the beginning. But after the havoc of the corona virus epidemic in 2020, the ICC had then banned it in international cricket. Then it was also implemented in the IPL. Just before the 18th season of the league starting on March 22, the board has now decided to remove this ban, giving a big relief to the bowlers. On Thursday, March 20, a meeting of officials and captains of all 10 teams was held at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. In this, the board informed all the captains about this decision.

That is, with the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22, bowlers will now be able to shine the ball in the IPL by using saliva as before. However, this ban is still going on in international cricket. After the end of the Corona epidemic, the ICC implemented it permanently. In such a situation, players are able to shine the ball only by using their sweat. But for some time now, there was a demand to remove this ban and to allow the use of saliva like in the old times. Just a few days ago, star Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami also demanded the removal of this ban and now the board immediately took action on this and removed this ban.
