Aurangzeb Not Fit to be Icon for India, Says RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale

Bengaluru (The Uttam Hindu) : Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said today that can Aurangzeb be an icon for the people of India. Aurangzeb should not be considered an icon for what he did. The icon of the country will be an outsider or someone else. There is a need to think about this. Today is the last day of the three-day meeting of the All India Representative Assembly of RSS. In the press conference, Hosabale also raised questions on 4% Muslim reservation in government contracts in Karnataka.

He said- Religion based reservation is not accepted in the constitution written by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Those who talk about Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb should think whether they consider Aurangzeb or Dara Shikoh as their icon? The freedom struggle was not fought only against the British, Shivaji and Maharana Pratap also fought for freedom against the Mughals. That too was a freedom struggle. The people of the country have to decide whether they consider Aurangzeb or Dara Shikoh as their icon?
